Rosario is a city with extremely warm and hospitable people, who opens their doors to foreigners as if they were their own family. It is known as "The City of Friends" by the celebration of the "Friends Day" (in commemoration of the day that man walked on the moon). Every year on the 20th of July, young people throughout the country come to Rosario to celebrate. This celebration of friendship is common throughout Argentina, but especially popular as a mass phenomenon in Rosario.

Rosario is also known as ‘The Cradle of Rebels’ due to Rosario being the birthplace of revolutionary Ernesto "Che" Guevara who joined forces with Fidel Castro in Cuba and subsequently fought with various insurgent guerrillas in Africa and Latin America. He has become a symbol of global scope; for his supporters he symbolizes the struggle against social injustice or rebellion and incorruptible spirit. The outline of his face, obtained from a photo by Alberto Korda, is one of the most reproduced images around the world. The "Che" Guevara Square in Rosario is a memorial to his life.

Rosario is hometown of many famous Argentines like ‘arguably’ the worlds greatest footballer, Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. Other locals include Alberto Olmedo (Comedian), Fito Paez (singer, composer and conductor), Roberto Fontanarrosa (humorist and writer), Lito Nebbia (singer and composer), Baglietto (singer), amongst others.

»  Rosario Cradle of Argentinean Flag
Rosario has a rich participation in the history of Argentina since in this place, on the shores of the Paraná River, was hoisted for the first time the Argentinean flag created by Manuel Belgrano, bringing independence to Argentina. In that place now lies the Flag Memorial, one of the largest and most impressive works of architecture in the country.
